Casarecce, also known as casareccia in certain regions of Italy, is a short, twisted pasta shape with its origins in Sicily. Traditionally, this pasta shape was crafted by rolling the pasta dough around a metal rod, known as a ‘ferro,’ in home kitchens.
Our casarecce is meticulously crafted through extrusion using bronze dyes, resulting in a more textured pasta that ensures the sauce sticks better to the pasta. This characteristic ensures a more comprehensive set of flavours with every mouthful.
Pasta sauce & shape pairing
The curves of this lightly twisted pasta shape make it perfect for capturing sauces such as various pestos & more delicate sauce recipes.
